Sequins, Glitter Balls and Farting

Post  Mslightfoot on Sun Nov 21, 2010 8:12 am

What was up with The Love God that is Leonard The Lion Goodman - even BF thought that remark a little inappropriate, given the setting, all that glamour and that glitz and then a conversation about farting ! Something was definitely up !

After all the build up, hype and excitment Blackpool was a bit of a let down IMO. I'm sure the celebs enjoyed the 'atmosphere' and the hold me take me of performing there but Vegas show it was not.

Might have been better to have a greater variety of dances not just the 2. Music performed well but could have been better and the pros made loads of mistakes. BF should have been in his element but failed disnmally and I wish L en hadn't bothered coming. Technically he may have been correct in his criticism of Kara's dance but marking her 1 more than An n and 1 lower than the plank? .... I think not.

I think that Blackpool is better suited to ballroom than latin and IMHO they should have really pushed the boat out with the pro dance, what we got was a lack lustre leftover from, what appeared to be, several years ago, nothing current about that dance, nothing interesting, no hot moves designed to make Blackpool come alive, a bit of a let down all the way around for me. Best dance of the night was Kara and Artem and that's really only because Artem made it a show dance, The Love God that is Leonard The Lion Goodman's comments were harsh but true, but still a great dance, thank gawd somebody broke the rules and livened the whole thing up.

Perhaps in the future Blackpool week should be Ballroom week - AS, Quickstep, Foxtrot, VW etc... would all cover a greater area of that magnificent floor. If they want to keep the Latin perhaps they should consider a spectacular Carnival themed pro medley with suitable costumes and music.

I thought L.en's farting analogy was quite funny myself! Maybe I enjoyed it all the more because like him I'm getting a bit fed up of M.att's gymnastics moves making their way into practically everything he does.

Oops, I agree that it was funny and summed up the silliness of Matt doing gymnastics in a dance, particularly when he can dance. I felt the same thing about Kara's dance, no need for gymnastics with her either, it is A.nn that needs to do an Olga Corbett impersonation (younger viewers will have to ask their parents about her). Kara's dance did flow though (even if it was a show dance), but Matts was just showing off. Back to L.en, I did laugh Embarassed but it was (IMO) the wrong place to say such a thing. If he had been filmed after show saying it then no problem.

Oh sorry, failed to mention, it did make me laugh but not sure that it was the right time and place, perhaps would have been funnier on ITT.

I really like the suggestion about making Blackpool a ballroom week - thinking back to last year's show, it seemed very spectacular and I thought that they would be bringing out everything this week - instead we got under-rehearsed pros and where were the show troupe? I did however like the Cirque du Soleil troupe who made the best use of all that grand space!! I can see why they wanted to do the AS (lifts etc) and the Samba (a progressive dance) but I think that both shows needed more razzamatazz instead of the loose 'Vegas' theme which didn't really work for a ballroom and latin show.
