I love Oxford! Mum and the youngest are back in the Cotswalds shopping today, they haven't said the roads are bad, when I speak to them later I'll ask and let you know!

Keeping busy, doing a Spring (it is Springlike here!) clean, but it was horrible seeing them off yesterday, kept it together until they went through Customs and then cried all night! Sad

Hello tartaners!
I thought I'd pop in for a bit of a chill, had a very long and emotional week, youngest not at all happy at uni at mo- some very hard conversations as a mum trying to prop up son at end of phone😢
Anyway, he has decided to try and give it a go, so we'll see what happens.
How are things sals and sax ( sounds like the resident musicians!)?
I think I have managed to work out how to view and post from the tablet now, so will pop on a bit more when I can
Take care everyone have a good week- looking forward to Friday night! Wink

Hi Alls

An emotional time for you both ((hugs))) I hope he has settled a little more. Its hard to suddenly be on your own in a new place.
Its very very hard as a mom when your teenager is upset & you have to not cry with them (wait for a hot bath on own then let the tears go) you want to wrap them up and make everything better! Many a time Ive wished. they were both back home tucked up in bed safe! Yet as a mom I know I have to let them go but be on hand when they need support.I do hope you feel a little better & that soon he settles. For some Uni doesn't work my youngest tried & disliked it within a term.Yet now he has settled in a job he thrives in & marries February.
Ill leave a huge urn on ready for tea/coffee,cushions,tissues & tlc available. Smile

Mine was the opposite. Dropped her off at the new Uni digs over the weekend and she just wanted us gone asap! I always tried to encourage independence but ....
Also have had a relative with dementia living with us for most of the last 9 months. Totally draining.  Recently had to admit defeat and resort to care home support.
So, hang on in there.  I'm hoping my wet dishcloth emotional status may soon achieve a slightly firmer washing up sponge texture with the start of Strictly!

Thanks guys for your supportive messages. Sax it was tears in a hot shower rather than bath, but same thing!
b4 I totally relate to your feelings, I lost my mum to dementia a few years ago- my dad put himself in hospital trying to keep her at home and that was the time we had to make the difficult decision.
I thought my two were independent too but it seems not! Eldest can't wait it finish her degree and study for masters from home.
Son is still not happy, but is trying to give it a go. Will see what the next week or so brings. Oh the joys of parenthood!

I think we may have to fend for ourselves Twirlie for a while as Housewives choice actually seems to have a partner who can dance!! How inconsiderate of the producers!
I think Tony is a foregone conclusion but it will be interesting to see who is next, for me the Hairy Biker/ Julien in any order, as long as they go! Smile

Flops in quite tiring a 24 hour beef festival! Well Tony is favourite to go however as Julian annoys me Id rather see Julian go Tony stay for a week! Trouble is I do like Dave's personality & I feel my vote counted for him last night & hopefully next week too! Then imo its Vanessa handbags at dawn ready for her last words! Then I fear it could be our Deborah or a shock Mark exit
I need a non alcoholic coctail please
