Kara's Dance
I thought the judges undermarked her. For me Kara's dance was probably the best of the night. She danced it like a professional and she certainly didn't run out of any steam. I thought the headband thingy looked a bit odd and highlighted the fact that she has a very small head, but other than that mild observation;
Kara, Best Charleston
Blimey how many people turned this gig down then ?, Best Tango

Re: Kara's Dance
I was surprised by the judges' comments and marks as I did not see a lack of energy or tailing off in performance. Kara performed all the classic charleston moves very well and conveyed spirit and personality throughout the dance, oh and didn't need a unicycle to impress me.
My only gripe - her dress. She has a great figure, but I personally think it would have looked better as a full dress, not as 2 piece.

I love this show and these forums - especially when things start hotting up and we all see different things.
I thought K.ara's charleston was lovely but was simply blown away by M.att and A.liona.
Sssscottt's tango was good too, no denying that, but it didn't grab me. Think Ian and Zoe - now THAT was a tango to die for.

I was also blown away by M&A - I thought his footwork, despite the slip, was astonishing. But I felt he was fairly marked, unlike Kara.

Re: Kara's Dance
A funny thing happened on the way to the Scorum:
Wonder what the judges actually feel like after the show? I mean, they make errors sometimes, and all the scores hinge around Brutus Kickassimus . He's the one who always pulls things down by marking 2/3 points below the others. Agreesha Cluelessimus , well, she just sees what the others are giving and agrees or, in some cases goes one higher, rarely lower. Leonardo Testicles is the anchor man who usually gets it pretty right and Vitus Nutcassius is the contrary one who has to be restained from giving 14's at times. Do they have a quick chat whilst Gushia Flatvowelimus waffles around up in the aviary, and do they sometimes, after early marking errors think "Oh, we made a right Horlicksiem by flying off too early with good/bad scores?
Do they have consciense's or, after the show maintain a couldn'tcarelessimus attitude. I sometimes wonder, is all.

About as much as you it seems, oh noble Minnehaha. My excuse is I'm a fully paid up member of Senilius Dementius.

Re: Kara's Dance
Depends how you rate best. If it's dancing technique then yes, Kara was best Charleston. If you view it as a mix of dance, entertainment, connectivity then for me Mat and Aliona won hands down.
Tango, S.cott was technically great, not feeling him though. In fact I didn't really get excited by anyone's Tango and that's my favourite dance. Elements of Pamela's and Felicity's did more for me than all of S.cott's, although I do see he is very good and am increasingly liking him.

Didn't get Matt & Aliona's at all - liked the dance well enough - but the window dressing left me cold, particularly the moustache, which was even more annoying on the results show when he wouldn't take it off when talking to the Goddess Claudi all hail her name ! Ugly ugly ugly !
Understand what you're saying about Blimey how many people turned this gig down then ?'s tango - for me, I think it was the canary yellow dress - put me off somewhat, good music but couldn't feel the dance, couldn't pick up the vibe. Flipping Bendy's tango with Vinthent was excellent and Pam's would have been a scorcher had she not come dressed as the Ho' from a Wild West Hen House ! and I mean that, not in a good way.

Re: Kara's Dance
Tointon managed to make the weird legs-akimbo-frog-step-with-jazz-hands look almost elegant, it looked controlled and natural rather than the wild stomping and hand waving the others managed (teenie-tiny-tina being the worst offender).
Canary yellow dress not withstanding that Tango was a bit flat for me - lacking in punch although it was the best of the Tango choices.
My favourite dance was the charleston from A.liona and the bloke she dances with.

Agree the Sssscottt Tango lacked a really dramatic "diamond" and seemed safe if very well executed, with safe music. This will probably stand him in good stead later as the basics will be ingrained.
