BBC boards
It's disappointing and I know I will miss them but .... I can't say the fact that we don't have them this years is on my top 10 lists of things which really nark me off.
A lot of people are getting their hair off about it on DS which I find odd (not sure if we're allowed to post links to another site on here).
Afterall, we've got this nice bright and shiny new boards

Needs to be a bit more publicised though. We could do with another mention on the BBC blogs and on the Archers.

Totally agree with OP (haven't mastered this art of Quotes yet) - personally, I much prefer this forum, and thanks very much to whoever set it up (will we ever know your identity?)
I see the Beeb boards havenicked borrowed David Tee's idea for a caption competition. Can't imagine that their hosts will start any smutty talk though.
I see the Beeb boards have

I miss them, and without this site the loss of the BBC board would be a lot worse, especially when you look at the other options, DS scares me, I've looked over the past couple of years and they will always find something to moan about, then bitch at each other about it!
Had a peek at the POV board as ewoodie had mentioned something on DS about it, again it seems a hairy place to mention an opinion!
Whereas this place seems lovely, smilies and lingerie galore!
Hmm why does sheer silk come out as underwear??? Bloomin mods don't like baked goods?

I rarely post on DS now. I liked the BBC boards because of the 'protection' it gave - yes, people did go OTT and it could get a bit nasty but any seriously unpleasant people were banned. That doesn't seem to happen on DS - in fact they've welcomed back previously banned users ... all the more reason to stay away IMO!

Tried it this morning and the BBC blog wont let me post the link, I tried several times and kept getting the message I had already typed this sentence. It needs other members to go across and post the link.
Edit - only just thought I could just refer back to a previous post that had the address - will go and see if that works.
Edit, Edit just had a look and all the posts of mine they refused this morning are actually there, people will think I am mad

Just look on it as another benefit of this site. IIRC the beeb boards always did have slow loading issues even with the 3 minute rule allowing multiple repeat posts.

I thought they had blocked me this morning because it wouldnt take my first attempt saying I had already posted the same thing even though it was a few days ago. Anyway I left a little message over there apologising for the overkill.

Certainly can't. This is a family board as my every utterance on it demonstrates.
